Jessica is proud to be Headteacher of Northside Primary School. She qualified in the UK and has taught for 17 years, mostly in international schools. Starting in London, she taught in Morocco before moving to Botswana in 2004. She is a passionate educator who loves her dynamic school.
Beverley is an experienced Special Needs Educator who stays current in her field. Studied in South Africa, starting her teaching career there before moving to Botswana. She has worked at Northside for over 30 years and on Leadership Team for more than 20 years.
Joanna is an experienced PYP teacher who holds a Master’s degree in Education (Leadership and Management). She is an IB Workshop Leader, an IB School Visit Team Member, and a CIS International Accreditation Evaluator, and has attended
numerous IB (International Baccalaureate) workshops. Joanna Laverick was born in Poland, taught in the UK, and lived in Norway, where she worked at an IB School. In 2009, Joanna moved to Botswana. She works at Northside Primary School as a PYP (Primary Years Programme) Coordinator.
Joanna is a committed lifelong learner and gets involved in community outreach programmes. She has collaborated with a local school, helping build and stock a working library. Joanna is involved in BirdLife Botswana, and helped to establish MOGAKA WA TIKOLOGO, Doreen McColaugh Annual Environmental Competition.
With over 25 years of teaching experience, Faith Shirto brings both depth and dynamism to Northside Primary School. He joined our community in 2022 as a Standard 7 Science and Social Studies teacher, quickly earning recognition for his ability to ignite curiosity in the classroom while nurturing the whole child.Â
Faith combines a passion for learning with a love for sports, creating an all-rounded school experience that inspires students to excel academically, socially, and physically. His commitment to balance and inclusivity ensures that every learner feels supported and challenged. In 2024, Faith was promoted to Head of Upper Primary, a role in which he continues to champion excellence, fairness, and celebration across the school. As a leader, he models the qualities of an Inquirer, always encouraging students to ask questions and explore new ideas; a Communicator, ensuring clarity and connection across the school community; a Balanced individual, blending academics, sports, and wellbeing; and a Caring mentor, guiding staff and students with empathy and respect. Through professionalism, creativity, and vision, Faith fosters a vibrant and supportive learning environment where every child can thrive.
Sian Noble joined Northside Primary School in 2010 and currently serves as Head of Lower Primary. Over the years, she has taught Reception, Standard 1, Standard 2, and Standard 4. Sian is committed to maintaining high standards of teaching
and learning while fostering a supportive and holistic environment for young learners. She values teamwork, consistency, and a balanced approach that nurtures both academic and personal growth.
The school is managed by the School Council which comprises of representatives from the parent body and founder member/debenture companies.
